Oklahoma City, OK – A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect for much of central and western Oklahoma from 6 p.m. Thursday to 9 a.m. Friday, with wind chills plunging to -8°F.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Norman, affected areas include Oklahoma City, Enid, and Ponca City, where prolonged exposure could lead to frostbite or hypothermia.

Residents are urged to bundle up, insulate exposed pipes, and check on vulnerable neighbors. Officials also warn of black ice on roadways as temperatures remain below freezing overnight.

Temperatures will warm slightly Friday afternoon, but another cold system could impact the region early next week.
