South Bend, Ind. – Northern Indiana will enjoy a stretch of dry, comfortable weather through the start of the week, with mostly clear skies and a slow warming trend. Afternoon highs Sunday will reach the mid to upper 70s, just a few degrees warmer than Saturday, offering another pleasant day across the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, overnight lows will dip into the upper 40s to near 50 both Saturday and Sunday night, keeping mornings on the cool side before sunshine quickly warms the afternoons. Monday will continue the trend with highs pushing into the upper 70s under bright skies.
Drivers and outdoor workers can expect excellent conditions to start the week, though forecasters caution that changes are ahead. The next chance of widespread rain and thunderstorms arrives Wednesday as a strong cold front moves into the area, potentially slowing commutes and outdoor plans.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the dry stretch to prepare for midweek storms, including clearing gutters and securing outdoor items.
The National Weather Service notes that the storm system could bring gusty winds and heavy downpours, with more details expected early next week.
