Paducah, KY – Light snow showers are expected to return to the Paducah area Wednesday afternoon, bringing minor accumulations primarily to grassy surfaces. Forecasters warn that the combination of colder air and a passing weather system will create mixed precipitation across western Kentucky.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Paducah, the best chances for snow will occur east of the Mississippi River. While accumulation is expected to be minimal—less than an inch—roads and elevated surfaces could become slick, especially during the evening commute. Light rain transitioning to snow is likely late tonight, with snow showers tapering off by late Wednesday.

Tuesday night will remain cloudy with temperatures dropping to the upper 20s. A brief rain-to-snow mix is forecast after 10 p.m., primarily affecting areas around I-24 and I-69. By Wednesday morning, skies will begin to clear as northwest winds bring cooler air into the region, with daytime highs reaching 44°F.

The extended forecast shows sunny skies Thursday with a high of 42°F before another warming trend brings highs into the 50s by Friday. Weekend rain showers are also possible, with heavier precipitation likely Saturday.

Residents are encouraged to exercise caution while traveling during the rain-to-snow transition tonight and the light snow showers Wednesday. Stay tuned to local weather updates for the latest conditions.
