Grand Junction, CO – Light snow will continue today across northern Colorado’s higher elevations, bringing 2-4 inches of accumulation. Localized heavier snowfall is possible in the highest terrain, especially in northwest Colorado. Meanwhile, the central and southern regions, including Grand Junction, will experience clear skies and seasonally mild temperatures.

According to the National Weather Service, the heaviest snow will affect travelers near mountain passes, particularly in the Elkhead and Gore Ranges. Drivers heading to the high country should prepare for slick conditions and reduced visibility. Lower elevations, however, will remain calm, with sunny skies and highs near 36 degrees.

Looking ahead, Wednesday will see a slight warming trend, with increasing clouds by afternoon and highs near 43 degrees in Grand Junction. A weak system may bring a 20% chance of snow showers Thursday night, but most areas will remain dry. Temperatures through the weekend will hover in the mid-40s during the day, with lows dropping into the upper teens to mid-20s at night.

Another significant weather system could develop late this week, bringing higher snow chances to the mountains. Residents planning holiday travel through the Rockies should monitor updates for potential impacts.
