Milwaukee, WI – Southeastern Wisconsin residents are waking up to a Winter Weather Advisory affecting travel and outdoor plans Thursday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, snow began falling at 6 a.m. and is expected to last until noon. Total snow accumulations could reach 4 inches in most areas, with higher amounts up to 5 inches in the Kettle Moraine region. Winds will gust as high as 45 mph, increasing the risk of falling tree branches and blowing snow.
The advisory impacts counties including Dane, Milwaukee, Racine, and Walworth. Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, are likely to become slick and dangerous. Commuters should expect delays during the morning rush hour.
Officials urge drivers to slow down and use caution. Pedestrians should watch for icy steps and sidewalks to avoid slips and falls.
Be prepared for changing road conditions and reduced visibility due to gusty winds. Monitor local weather updates for the latest conditions and travel warnings.
