Detroit, MI – A significant winter storm will bring snow to southeast Michigan starting late Friday night. Forecasters warn of hazardous travel conditions throughout the region.
According to the National Weather Service, snowfall will begin after midnight and peak early Saturday. Areas north of I-69 could see up to six inches of snow. Closer to the Ohio border, snowfall totals will be around two inches due to possible rain mixing in.
By Saturday afternoon, some areas may experience freezing drizzle, increasing the risk of icy roads. A transition from snow to rain is likely south of I-96 and I-696 as temperatures rise above freezing.
Officials urge travelers to plan for slow-moving traffic and potential delays from Friday night through Saturday evening. Drivers should allow extra time to reach their destinations and stay updated on road conditions.
This storm follows several rounds of winter weather that have hit the region in recent weeks. Stay tuned for updates as conditions evolve.
