Pittsburgh, PA – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for portions of western Pennsylvania and eastern West Virginia starting Sunday morning.

The National Weather Service (NWS) warns of mixed precipitation, including light snow and freezing rain. Ice accumulations could reach up to one-tenth of an inch in higher elevations, creating slippery road conditions. The advisory will be in effect from 7 a.m. Sunday to 7 p.m. for most areas, extending to 1 a.m. Monday for elevated regions.

According to the NWS, affected areas include Clarion, Indiana, Ligonier, and Terra Alta. While total snow accumulations are expected to remain under one inch, freezing rain poses a significant hazard for drivers.

Residents should plan for delays and take precautions on untreated roads and sidewalks.

Stay updated by monitoring weather reports and ensuring your vehicle is prepared for icy conditions.
