Glen Ellyn, Ill. — The Village of Glen Ellyn reported that it would be making an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan to improve public sidewalk accessibility. On June 17, the Village posted a survey for residents to share their experiences with public sidewalks and give feedback on how the village can improve pedestrian routes. Residents can also identify specific locations that need enhancement through the interactive map.

The Village of Glen Ellyn Accessibility Improvements Engagement Platform aims to make an ADA public right-of-way transition plan for infrastructure, services and programs in Glen Ellyn. The goal is to have public sidewalk accessibility improved for those with disabilities.

Residents can help the Glen Ellyn Accessibility Improvements Engagement Platform by placing a pin on the interactive map, joining the steering committee or attending a meeting. The plan will focus on sidewalk areas that pose high risk in busy pedestrian areas as well as roads and curbs. The first phase of the plan will include taking inventory of sidewalks, curb ramps, bus stops and traffic signals throughout Glen Ellyn.
