Shreveport, LA – The coldest air of the fall season is set to sweep across the ArkLaTex region beginning late Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Shreveport.
A strong cold front will move through the area this evening, bringing sharply cooler temperatures and gusty northwest winds. Behind the front, daytime highs Wednesday through Friday will stay below normal, while overnight lows are expected to dip into the 30s in parts of northern Louisiana, southern Arkansas, and eastern Texas.
Forecasters say this will mark a significant pattern change, ushering in a stretch of clear, crisp autumn weather that may linger into the weekend.
Residents are urged to prepare for chilly mornings and consider protecting outdoor plants and pets as the first true fall cold snap settles in.
