Shreveport, LA – Shreveport residents can expect a slight reprieve from the recent heat as today’s high temperatures are forecasted to reach the low to mid-90s. Thanks to a weak cold front and recent rainfall, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Shreveport reports that these relatively cooler temperatures will be accompanied by lingering thunderstorm chances, primarily south of Interstate 20.

According to the NWS, the precipitation chances today range from 10% in the northern regions to 40% in southern areas like Lufkin and Center, TX. The thunderstorms are anticipated to bring gusty winds, with notable wind gusts recorded on Wednesday. The highest gusts were at Shreveport Regional Airport, hitting 63 mph at 1:22 p.m., and Mansfield, LA, which experienced 62 mph gusts at 2:00 p.m. Other significant wind gusts were noted across Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma, indicating widespread storm activity.

Looking ahead, Shreveport’s weather forecast shows a continuation of hot temperatures. Friday is expected to be mostly clear with highs reaching 96 degrees. The weekend will see slightly higher temperatures, with Saturday and Sunday peaking at 97 and 96 degrees, respectively. Early next week, temperatures will hover in the mid-90s, maintaining the hot trend, although clear skies are expected to prevail.
