Shelby County, TN – Detectives with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office recovered a stolen truck and arrested a convicted felon following a December investigation that extended into neighboring Tipton County.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, property crimes detectives began investigating a residential burglary on December 2 after a victim reported her pickup truck missing from the 6100 block of Old Tipton Road. The truck, valued at approximately $4,000 to $5,000, was later spotted for sale on Facebook Marketplace.

By December 29, investigators tracked the vehicle to the 4400 block of Charleston-Mason Road in Mason, Tennessee. Working with the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office, detectives executed a search warrant and recovered the stolen pickup. During the search, Antonio F. Humphrey, 45, was identified as the suspect and arrested for theft of property between $2,500 and $10,000.

Authorities also seized several firearms, including a Charter Arms .44 revolver, a 9mm pistol confirmed stolen from Alabama, and an AR-style rifle. Detectives recovered additional tools used to unlawfully access vehicles.

Further investigation revealed that Humphrey is a convicted felon who now faces additional charges in Tipton County. Sheriff Floyd Bonner Jr. praised the work of detectives and thanked Tipton County authorities for their cooperation in the arrest.
