Milwaukee, WI – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for much of southeastern Wisconsin as snowfall and strong winds continue through early Thursday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, additional snow accumulations of up to three inches are expected in Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Dodge, Ozaukee, and Washington counties before the advisory expires at 7 a.m. Thursday. Winds will gust as high as 50 mph, creating hazardous travel conditions.

Further west, Columbia, Green Lake, Marquette, and Sauk counties remain under advisory until 4 a.m., with up to two inches of additional snowfall and winds reaching 45 mph. Blowing and drifting snow could make roads slippery, and reduced visibility may impact travel overnight.

Drivers are urged to slow down and exercise caution on the roads, as hazardous conditions could linger into the morning commute. The National Weather Service advises checking the latest road conditions by dialing 511.

Gusty winds may also bring down tree branches and cause scattered power outages across affected areas. Residents should secure outdoor objects and be prepared for potential disruptions.

The storm is expected to taper off by mid-morning Thursday, with improving conditions throughout the day. However, lingering ice and snow could still make travel difficult in some areas. Travelers should stay updated on weather alerts and road conditions.
