Sevierville, TN – Pet owners across Sevier County have a chance to protect their furry friends this weekend at a special Microchip Day event hosted by Sheriff Michael R. Hodges Jr. and the Sevier County Animal Shelter.

According to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, the event will be held Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Seymour First Baptist Church (11621 Chapman Highway). The goal is to help local residents ensure their dogs and cats can be safely identified and returned home if ever lost.

Microchipping will cost $20 per pet and is available for Sevier County residents only. The first 100 pets to arrive will be microchipped on-site, while the next 100 will receive a voucher for a later appointment.

Officials also noted that all Sevier County Sheriff’s Animal Control Deputies now carry microchip readers, increasing the likelihood of reuniting missing pets with their owners.

For additional details or to confirm eligibility, residents can contact the Sevier County Animal Shelter at 865-280-2280 or the Sheriff’s Office directly.

Community members are encouraged to arrive early, as demand for low-cost microchipping events in the county has been strong in past years.
