Des Moines, IA – Western Iowa faces a slight risk of severe thunderstorms tonight, with the potential for large hail, strong wind gusts, and isolated tornadoes. According to the US National Weather Service in Des Moines, the severe weather threat will extend through this evening and into tonight.

The highest risk areas include Sioux City, Council Bluffs, and other parts of western Iowa. Storms are expected to develop late this afternoon, moving east and southeast into the night.
