Twin Cities, MN – A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for parts of Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota until 7 PM CDT today. The National Weather Service Twin Cities announced the watch, indicating that severe weather conditions are likely across the region.

According to the National Weather Service, the affected areas include major cities such as Fargo, Valley City, Aberdeen, and Watertown. The watch highlights the potential for a couple of tornadoes, scattered hail up to the size of tennis balls, and wind gusts reaching up to 80 mph. Approximately 954,460 people, 629 schools, and 69 hospitals are within the watch area.

Residents are advised to stay indoors and away from windows during the watch period. The National Weather Service recommends that individuals have an emergency kit ready and keep a close eye on weather updates. If a tornado warning is issued, residents should take cover in a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.
