Western Pennsylvania is under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 11 PM tonight. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued the alert Sunday afternoon, warning of potentially hazardous weather conditions.
According to the NWS, scattered thunderstorms will develop and intensify across the region this evening. Damaging wind gusts of up to 70 mph and large hail, possibly reaching 2 inches in diameter, are expected. The strongest storms may exhibit supercell characteristics, posing a risk for localized severe gusts and hail.
