Milwaukee, WI – Dangerous swimming conditions are expected along southern Wisconsin beaches today.

According to the National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan, a high swim risk is anticipated from 10 a.m. today through early Wednesday morning at Sheboygan and Ozaukee County beaches. Waves of 3-5 feet and wind gusts of 25-30 mph are forecast, contributing to choppy and potentially life-threatening conditions. The National Weather Service warns that large waves and dangerous currents can create hazardous situations, particularly near piers and break walls.

Moderate swim risks are expected at Milwaukee and Racine County beaches, with waves of 2-4 feet and similar wind speeds. Beachgoers in these areas are also advised to exercise caution and avoid entering the water if possible.

The weather service emphasizes the importance of heeding these warnings to prevent accidents and ensure safety. Swimming in these conditions can be extremely dangerous, even for experienced swimmers. Authorities recommend staying out of the water and away from dangerous areas such as piers, break walls, and river outlets.
