Medford, OR – A cold weather advisory remains in effect for parts of Southern Oregon, including Medford, Grants Pass, and Ashland, as temperatures dip into the teens. The advisory is in place until 9 a.m. Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Medford, very cold temperatures ranging from 13 to 25 degrees are expected. The advisory covers Central Douglas, Eastern Curry, Josephine, and Jackson counties, including communities such as Roseburg, Cave Junction, Talent, and Shady Cove.
The NWS warns that prolonged exposure to the cold can lead to hypothermia. Residents are urged to wear warm clothing, including hats and gloves, and to limit outdoor activity when possible. Pet owners should keep animals indoors or provide adequate shelter, food, and unfrozen water.
Tuesday will see gradual clearing with a high of 39°F, but overnight lows will remain frigid at around 17°F. By Wednesday, temperatures will rise slightly, but another round of precipitation, including rain and possible snow, is expected later in the week.
