Bradley, IL – Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School (BBCHS) failed a security test conducted by the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department. On Tuesday, an off-duty officer, dressed in plain clothes, successfully breached the building’s exterior. The test aimed to evaluate the school’s security measures, which BBCHS did not pass.
According to the district, this breach highlights ongoing challenges with their building limitations, including portable classrooms and high student traffic. These issues make securing the perimeter difficult. The school administration and local law enforcement are now working together to address these concerns.
BBCHS has already implemented security upgrades, including armed staff and advanced cameras that detect firearms. The district views this test as a valuable learning opportunity and remains committed to improving student and staff safety.
