Orland Park, IL Hosts National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Oct. 26

Orland Park, IL – The Orland Park Police Department will host a Prescription Drug Take Back event on Saturday, Oct. 26. Residents can dispose of unused or expired medications between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the department located at 15100 S. Ravinia Ave.

The event aims to keep dangerous drugs from falling into the wrong hands, preventing misuse, overdose, and environmental contamination. According to the department, residents should use this opportunity to clean out their medicine cabinets safely. The program is a part of the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, supported by the DEA.

Pills, patches, and liquid medications are accepted. However, the event does not take syringes or illegal drugs. Residents are encouraged to ensure all personal information is removed from packaging before disposal.
