Paducah, KY — Record-breaking temperatures are expected across Paducah and surrounding areas Thursday, with the heat index soaring between 100 to 105 degrees. As Labor Day weekend approaches, residents are advised to prepare for a shift in weather conditions.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Paducah predicts that high temperatures will persist Thursday, reaching up to 100 degrees. However, a cold front arriving Friday afternoon will bring scattered thunderstorms that may continue through Saturday. According to NWS, this cold front will usher in cooler, more seasonable temperatures by the weekend.

Friday’s forecast includes highs ranging from 92 to 97 degrees, with scattered thunderstorms likely in the afternoon and evening. Saturday will see more widespread storm activity, with highs dropping to the low 80s, providing some relief from the oppressive heat. The trend towards cooler temperatures will continue through Sunday, with daytime highs between 84 and 89 degrees.
