San Francisco, Calif. – Holiday weekend plans across the Bay Area will enjoy plenty of sunshine, but gusty winds could make outdoor activities tricky, especially near the coast and higher elevations. Highs will reach the mid-70s in San Francisco through Sunday before easing slightly into the low 70s by Labor Day.

According to the National Weather Service, west winds will build this afternoon between 10 and 17 mph, with gusts peaking near 21 mph. Sunday evening could see stronger bursts of up to 22 mph, keeping nighttime temperatures brisk in the upper 50s. The steady pattern of cool mornings and mild afternoons will continue into midweek.

The clearest skies are expected during the daytime, but residents should prepare for breezy evenings that could impact ferry rides across the bay and outdoor events near Ocean Beach or the Embarcadero. Inland valleys will run warmer, but coastal neighborhoods will remain in the low to mid-70s with strong afternoon winds keeping conditions cooler.

Travelers and residents are encouraged to secure outdoor items and dress in layers as temperatures swing between upper 50s at night and mid-70s during the day. Sunny skies are expected to dominate through at least Wednesday, with no rain in sight.
