San Francisco, CA – A heat advisory has been issued for the San Francisco Bay Area, effective from 11 a.m. Wednesday to 11 p.m. Thursday, as temperatures are expected to soar into the triple digits, reaching up to 107°F in some areas. This advisory is a serious warning for residents in interior valleys, mountain regions, and several counties including Monterey and Santa Clara.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service (NWS), the most affected areas include North Bay Interior Mountains, East Bay Interior Valleys, and the Santa Cruz Mountains. Residents should prepare for potentially dangerous heat conditions, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours. NWS recommends staying hydrated, avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat, and never leaving children or pets in vehicles. Cooling centers are expected to open across the region, and residents are advised to take advantage of these resources.

As temperatures will remain high through Thursday, cooler weather is not expected until the weekend. By Friday, highs will drop into the upper 60s, offering much-needed relief. Until then, residents should exercise caution and monitor updates from local authorities.
