Sacramento, CA – A stretch of sweltering June heat is setting in across Sacramento, with temperatures climbing into the mid-90s by Saturday and gusty winds adding to the fire danger.

According to the National Weather Service in Sacramento, Sunday will top out near 89°F before daily highs climb into the low 90s through at least Friday. Winds out of the south and southwest will range from 6 to 11 mph, with gusts reaching up to 21 mph during the early week. Overnight lows will hover around the mid-50s to upper 50s.

The consistent heat and dry conditions could increase wildfire risk across the Sacramento Valley, especially in grassy or brush-filled areas. Residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning, stay hydrated, and limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours.

Clear skies will dominate the forecast, offering no relief from the warming trend. Light evening breezes will persist, but provide little temperature drop overnight.

Temperatures may push even higher next weekend, with Saturday’s high nearing 95°F — possibly the hottest day of the year so far.
