Wilmington, IL – A large fire erupted early this morning at a two-and-a-half-story home on Route 53, prompting a full still alarm response from multiple fire departments.
The Wilmington Fire Protection District, along with units from Braidwood, Elwood, Channahon, and Minooka, battled heavy smoke and flames at the scene. The fire broke out at 29040 S Route 53 around 7:50 a.m.
Authorities are advising the public to avoid the area as crews continue to work. According to officials, no injuries have been reported at this time.
