Reno, NV – A midweek storm will bring rain and snow to Reno on Wednesday, March 5, marking a shift in Nevada’s spring weather. Residents should prepare for wet roads in the morning and possible snow in higher elevations by the evening.

According to the National Weather Service, rain is expected to begin after 10 a.m. in Reno, with temperatures reaching a high of 47°F. Higher elevations, above 5,600 feet, could see snow mixing in later in the evening as temperatures drop to 28°F. Winds will remain light, but wet conditions may create slick roadways during the afternoon commute.

By Wednesday night, rain will transition to snow in some areas before tapering off. The chance of precipitation is 60%, though little to no accumulation is expected in the city. Motorists traveling on Interstate 80 or through mountain passes should stay updated on potential road hazards.

Thursday will bring lingering snow showers in the morning before clearing in the afternoon, with a high near 43°F. By Friday, sunny skies return, and temperatures will climb back to 47°F. The weekend looks dry, with highs reaching the upper 50s by Sunday.

Residents should prepare for wet conditions Wednesday but can look forward to milder spring weather later in the week.
