Raleigh, NC Tornado: EF-2 Twister Confirmed Near Harrells with 115 MPH Winds

Raleigh, NC – The National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed that an EF-2 tornado touched down near Harrells, North Carolina on August 7. The tornado, which was surveyed by NWS, traveled a 4.6-mile path with estimated peak winds reaching 115 mph.

The storm, which struck between 2:09 p.m. and 2:20 p.m. EDT, caused varying degrees of damage along its route. According to the NWS, the tornado’s intensity was mostly categorized between EF-0 and EF-1 until it neared Harrells, where more significant damage was reported. The most severe impact occurred just two miles southwest of Harrells, particularly along Bland School Road, where a home sustained notable damage.

Thankfully, there were no reported injuries or fatalities associated with this event. The NWS continues to monitor weather conditions in the region, urging residents to stay informed and prepared for any further severe weather.
