Boston, MA – The National Weather Service in Boston/Norton reports that after a quiet start to the week, rain returns late Tuesday into Tuesday night, followed by breezy, colder conditions for the Thanksgiving holiday period.
Light showers or flurries may appear Sunday evening, but Monday will be mostly sunny and breezy with highs in the 40s to near 50°F. The main weather system arrives Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday night, bringing widespread rainfall across the region with precipitation chances peaking near 85–90%.
A few lingering showers may persist into Wednesday, before a cold front sweeps through, ushering in blustery winds and much colder air for Thursday and Friday. Thanksgiving Day is expected to be dry but brisk, with highs only in the 30s to low 40s.
Drivers are advised to plan ahead for wet travel Tuesday and Wednesday, especially for pre-holiday commuters.
