Blacksburg, VA – Western Virginia will experience a shift in weather conditions this weekend, with showers returning late Saturday and continuing into Sunday. While Saturday remains mostly dry and mild, rain chances increase Saturday night, with the heaviest precipitation expected on Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Blacksburg, afternoon showers may develop today near the I-64 corridor, but skies will otherwise remain partly sunny. High temperatures will range from the low to mid-70s in the mountains and climb into the upper 70s to 80s across the Piedmont.

Saturday brings mostly cloudy skies with similar temperature trends. By Saturday night, a 30% chance of scattered showers moves into the area, particularly in mountain regions, with overnight lows between 50–60°F.

Sunday is projected to bring widespread rainfall, especially across western parts of the state. Scattered to numerous showers will cover much of the region, with the best coverage occurring west of the Blue Ridge. Highs will sit in the upper 60s to low 70s in the mountains and low to upper 70s in the Piedmont.

Residents should plan for wet road conditions, particularly Sunday into Sunday night. Keep rain gear handy and stay updated with local alerts for any changes in timing or intensity.
