Racine County, WI – A 19-year-old Sturtevant resident has been arrested after investigators allegedly uncovered multiple videos of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and acts of bestiality, according to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Sheriff Christopher Schmaling, the department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit received a tip in November 2025 that led them to a home in the 9000 block of Florene Drive. A search warrant was executed on December 19, 2025, where investigators encountered several adults and juveniles. Through interviews and evidence review, detectives identified the suspect as Julian Cruz, age 19.
A forensic review of Cruz’s electronic devices reportedly revealed numerous explicit videos involving children and animals. Investigators said Cruz admitted to possessing the material for several years, acknowledging he expected to be caught but could not stop his behavior.
Cruz has been charged with 13 counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of possessing obscene material involving an animal. He is being held in the Racine County Jail on $750,000 bail, pending prosecution by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office.
Sheriff Schmaling emphasized the department’s commitment to combating online exploitation, stating the arrest “sends a clear message that these crimes will be aggressively investigated and firmly prosecuted.”
