Quad Cities Region Home Invasion: Armed Suspect Still at Large, Police Warn Near Colona

Colona, IL – Police in Colona are searching for a suspect considered armed and dangerous following an early-morning home invasion on Sunday, October 5. Officers responded to a report around 1:56 a.m. of an unlawful entry at a residence, but the suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

According to the Colona Police Department, investigators have identified the suspect as Zachary Klingaman, who now faces a nationwide warrant for his arrest. Authorities say Klingaman is believed to be armed with a firearm and warn residents not to approach him under any circumstances.

The Colona Police Department is actively seeking public assistance in locating Klingaman. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Colona Police at 309-792-1511, email public@colonapolice.illinois.gov, or reach Henry County Dispatch at 309-937-3911.

Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers of the Quad Cities at 309-762-9500 or via the P3 Tips app. Tipsters whose information leads to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.

Police say further updates will be released as the investigation develops. All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
