Davenport, Iowa – Passing showers and cooler-than-average temperatures will linger across the Quad Cities region through Wednesday, with rain primarily affecting areas south of Interstate 80 today.

According to the National Weather Service Quad Cities office, highs will top out between 63 and 70 degrees on Sunday, May 25, under mostly cloudy skies. Showers are expected to develop mainly in the southern portion of the forecast area, with more widespread light rain arriving Tuesday into early Wednesday.

Cities such as Galesburg, Burlington, and Macomb may see on-and-off rain through Memorial Day, while locations further north—like the Quad Cities metro and Clinton—can expect mostly dry but overcast skies.

Drivers heading south for the holiday should stay alert for wet roads, especially Monday evening into Tuesday morning. No severe storms are anticipated, but temperatures will stay 5 to 10 degrees below late-May norms.

With highs hovering in the 60s and low 70s through midweek, residents are advised to bring a jacket to outdoor events and monitor for updates if traveling.

Light rain chances and cooler temps remain in the outlook through Wednesday morning. No weather alerts are currently in effect.
