DAVENPORT, Iowa – Holiday travelers across the Quad Cities can expect mostly pleasant conditions through Labor Day, with just a small chance of rain in the western and southern parts of the region. Highs will stay steady between 75 and 80 degrees, making for comfortable afternoons at local parades, picnics, and riverfront events.
According to the National Weather Service, the only interruptions may come tonight and again Sunday when a 20 percent chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms develops west and south of the metro. Most areas, however, will stay dry through the long weekend.
Overnight lows will dip into the low-50s east of the Mississippi, while towns farther west see slightly warmer nights in the upper-50s. Sunday and Labor Day both bring plenty of sunshine, while Tuesday looks to be the warmest day of the stretch, topping out near 80 with lows in the mid-50s.
Drivers should be mindful of changing conditions if storms build west of the river, though widespread travel impacts are not expected. Outdoor plans remain safe for most of the holiday weekend.
