Cookeville, TN – A 24-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in Putnam County has been arrested in Arkansas following a multi-state investigation, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Sheriff Eddie Farris, detectives received a report on August 24, 2024, that an adult male had allegedly climbed into a teenage girl’s bedroom window and forced her to have sex. Detectives began investigating immediately and identified the suspect as Juan Ivan Ramirez-Alvarez, who was reportedly in a relationship with the victim.

While investigators worked to confirm his identity, Ramirez-Alvarez allegedly fled to Arkansas. Detective Sergeant Mark Boyer later located the suspect, and U.S. Marshals assisted with his arrest in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Division transported Ramirez-Alvarez back to Tennessee, where he was booked into the Putnam County Jail. He is charged with one count of Aggravated Statutory Rape and is being held on a $150,000 bond.
