Pueblo, CO – An 18-year-old man has been arrested and a 16-year-old juvenile detained in connection with a series of drive-by shootings that struck multiple homes in Pueblo West over Thanksgiving, authorities said.

According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Alexander Thompson on Friday, November 28, 2025, on 22 counts of attempted first-degree murder after at least four homes were allegedly targeted in drive-by shootings on Thanksgiving night and the following day. A juvenile male was also taken into custody as an alleged accomplice. No injuries were reported.

Deputies first responded around 8 p.m. Thursday to a report of shots fired at a home on Tenderfoot Lane, where a front window and door were hit and a bullet struck the back of a television with several people sitting in front of it, according to the sheriff’s office. Additional damage from suspected drive-by gunfire was reported at homes on Matt Drive and Beshoar Drive, including a vehicle and garage struck by bullets.

Investigators identified Thompson as a suspect and obtained a description of the vehicle involved. A patrol deputy later located the vehicle at a McDonald’s parking lot in Pueblo West, where Thompson was taken into custody without incident. The juvenile was detained at the same time.

Authorities say Thompson allegedly admitted to being involved in shootings at four Pueblo West locations and another in the City of Pueblo, stating the juvenile drove while he fired shots. A weapon was seen in plain view in the vehicle, which was seized pending a search warrant.

Thompson is being held at the Pueblo County Jail on a $500,000 cash bond. The juvenile was booked into the Zebulon Pike Youth Services Center in Colorado Springs. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are possible, deputies said.

Pueblo County Sheriff David J. Lucero praised deputies for their quick work and noted he was “very thankful that nobody was injured” despite families being inside the targeted homes.
