Pueblo, CO – Southern Colorado will see near-normal to slightly warmer temperatures Monday, but changes are on the way as the region prepares for a wetter pattern starting Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, high temperatures Monday, September 15, will reach the upper 80s across the plains, including La Junta, Lamar, and Eads, while mountain towns such as Leadville and Creede remain cooler in the 50s and 60s. Pueblo is expected to top out near 85°F, with Colorado Springs slightly cooler at 78°F.
Forecasters report dry conditions will hold for Monday, but a shift begins late Tuesday as showers and thunderstorms return to the forecast. The approaching system is expected to bring cooler and wetter weather through the second half of the week.
The five-day outlook shows a notable temperature drop beginning Wednesday. Highs across much of southern Colorado will fall into the 60s and 70s, with overnight lows dipping into the 40s and 50s. Areas like Alamosa and Leadville could see lows in the 30s by midweek, signaling an early taste of fall.
Travelers and residents are advised to prepare for changing conditions, especially as thunderstorms may impact commutes and outdoor activities later in the week.
