Pueblo, CO – Temperatures across southern Colorado are set to rise well above seasonal norms this week, with dry and sunny conditions expected in most areas. Residents can anticipate highs reaching the mid-80s on the plains by Thursday, while mountain regions remain cooler but pleasant.

According to the US National Weather Service Pueblo Colorado, a strong ridge of high pressure is building across the state. This will push daily highs in the plains, including Pueblo, to 75–87°F through Friday. Mountain valleys such as Alamosa will remain in the upper 60s, while higher elevations in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains will top out in the mid-60s. Overnight lows will vary widely, from the low 40s on the plains to below freezing in mountain valleys.

A brief interruption to the warming trend is expected Tuesday. A weak cold front will bring scattered rain showers and possible thunderstorms to the San Luis Valley and far southern counties, with gusty winds up to 45 mph in some storm cores.

Drivers should watch for strong crosswinds and changing road conditions, especially near mountain passes. Residents are encouraged to stay weather-aware, stay hydrated, and limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon heat later this week.
