KANKAKEE – Project SUN will present a free presentation on “Supporting Our LGBTQIA+ Children” on Thursday, November 19, from 5:30–7:00 PM via GoToWebinar. The presentation will feature a panel of local community members will lead participants in exploring this topic. The event is part of an ongoing series of monthly Parent Cafés hosted by Project SUN, a children’s behavioral health initiative.
The free online Parent Café is open to parents, grandparents, other caregivers, and
interested community members across Kankakee County. More registration info can

Attendees will learn about how to:
• Talk about gender and sexual identity with children
• Support a child who identifies as being LGBTQ+
• Access local community services and supports
Project SUN is a strong and unified network that is family-driven and youth-guided. It is
dedicated to strengthening the children’s behavioral health system of care in Kankakee
County through a coordinated network of services and supports that address the needs
