Fort Worth, TX — The heat in Fort Worth will intensify today and Friday, with temperatures expected to soar into the upper 90s and heat indices reaching triple digits. Residents should prepare for scorching conditions, with Friday expected to hit highs of 100°F in areas like Graham and Sherman.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Thursday and Friday will be the peak of this heat wave, with dangerous heat indices between 100°F and 105°F in most of the region. The NWS warns that residents should limit outdoor activities, stay hydrated, and be cautious of heat-related illnesses during this period.

Relief is on the horizon as a cold front is set to arrive late Sunday. Cooler temperatures will usher in a much-needed break, with highs dropping to the 80s by Tuesday. Rain chances increase on Tuesday and Wednesday, providing further relief from the heat.
