Pontiac, IL – Two men were found dead from apparent gunshot wounds inside a Pontiac residence Saturday afternoon, prompting a multi-agency investigation into the cause and circumstances of their deaths.
According to a media release from the Pontiac Police Department, officers were called at 3:21 p.m. to a home in the 600 block of South Oak Street, where they discovered a 59-year-old man and a 25-year-old man inside the residence. Both were pronounced dead at the scene by the Livingston County Coroner.
The identities of the victims are being withheld pending further investigation. Police emphasized that this appears to be an isolated incident confined to the residence and stated there are no ongoing threats to the public.
Assisting in the investigation are the Livingston County Coroner’s Office, Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, and the Pontiac Fire Department.
No additional information, including the relationship between the two men or the circumstances leading up to the incident, has been released at this time.
