Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville Farmers Market Returns Tuesday with Fresh Fall Produce

LAWRENCEVILLE, Pa. – Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood will host its weekly farmers market Tuesday, Sept. 30, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the intersection of 41st and Willow Street. Local farmers harvest fresh produce including squashes, corn, pumpkins, peppers, and an assortment of other fruits and vegetables for the market. 

Lawrenceville United, the resident driven non-profit that organizes the market, the goal is to expand access to healthy food options in the community. Credit cards, SNAP benefits, WIC, and Senior FMNP vouchers are accepted. SNAP benefits can be redeemed at the market’s info booth through the city’s Food Justice Fund. 

The market is wheelchair accessible and offers a Buddy System for contactless delivery. Staff are also available to help carry bags, provide shopping carts, and collect feedback through provided surveys.

Along with produce, Vendors sell prepared food and drinks. Jackworth Ginger Beer, Press House Coffee, Pepper Boy Pepper Company, and Tiny Seed Farm are a few notable vendors. Vendor participation can rotate weekly, giving shoppers the opportunity to connect directly with different local farmers and businesses each visit.

Lawrenceville, known for its mix of eateries, arts, and nightlife, has developed a reputation for its community-centered events. The weekly market reflects that culture, offering residents a chance to sample products, gather contact information from vendors, and strengthen ties with the local food network.
