Pittsburgh, PA Drivers in Pittsburgh and the McKees Rocks Borough should prepare for delays next week as eastbound lanes on Route 3104’s McKees Rocks Bridge will be restricted for maintenance starting at 7 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), lane restrictions will continue through Friday, Aug. 15, weather permitting. Work will take place from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily.

The closure will allow crews to complete bridge inspection and maintenance to ensure long-term safety. Workers will seal and clean eastbound lanes and sidewalks.

Traffic will be reduced to a single lane during work hours. PennDOT advises motorists to expect slower travel times, consider alternate routes, and allow extra time during the upcoming week. Officials urge drivers to remain alert in work zones, and watch for posted detours.

Flaggers will conduct traffic and guide pedestrians. The eastbound lane and sidewalk will be closed but the westbound side of the bridge will remain mostly unaffected.

Bridge maintenance projects like this are part of ongoing efforts to keep the heavily traveled structure safe and in good condition.
