PITTSBURGH  — The Allentown neighborhood will host its biannual night market Saturday, Oct. 11, from 7 to 11 p.m., featuring local artisans, food and beverage vendors, and live performers celebrating the fall season.

The market doubles as a performance faire for local DJs, bands, and circus performers. Many businesses in the district will remain open late, with the evening concluding in a parade led by the Eagleburgher’s Band.

Businesses and vendors range from the Soil Sisters House of Plants Nursery, offering organic seedlings, to Little Giant Studio, which will screen Halloween movies throughout the night.

Nora Thompson, a featured vendor, will sell original paintings, drawings, stickers, books, and cards. “We house a lot of spooky vendors with their own spooky collections,” said founder Kelly Braden, noting the market has expanded to five outdoor areas this year due to strong vendor interest.

Items such as decorative gravestones, pumpkin art, metaphysical goods, and Samhain supplies will be available for purchases. Attendees will have a variety of options to complete their Halloween season shopping.

Organizers point out that Allentown is distinctive from the city on account of its darker, spookier, more grunge aesthetic. Community volunteers working at the night market help keep the area clean, direct traffic flow, give pedestrians directions, and assist vendors throughout the event, ensuring a safe and welcoming experience for attendees and their pets.
