Pittsburgh Event Alert: Adults-Only ‘Neuro Night’ Coming to Carnegie Science Center August 8

Pittsburgh, PA – On Friday, Aug. 8th, Pittsburgh-area residents ages 21 and older can visit the Carnegie Science Center for an after-hours event, “Neuro Night,” featuring dancing, learning and opportunities to conqueror fears. 

Guests can explore all five floors of the Carnegie Science Center after hours, without the usual crowds. The event provides themed cocktails, lectures from local neuroscientists, and performances by area comedians.

The “Mental Health: Mind Matters” exhibition blends immersive and interactive activities, explaining the science behind mental health. Visitors can experience simulations of auditory hallucinations, practice guided breathing exercises, and learn to overcome their fears through a full-body game. The full-body game uses mirrors and masks to simulate the real-life process of conquering fears.

The Carnegie Science Center will close the special exhibit after Aug. 17th. “Neuro Night” attendees will have  a chance to experience this exhibit in a unique, adults-only setting. 

Other notable highlights include: how the brain responds to various music genres, panels and lectures from experts in neuroscience and psychiatry, optical illusions, magic tricks,cornhole games, and a silent disco dance party. 

Registration for the event is $25 per person and ends on August 8th. Members of the Carnegie Science Center get a discounted rate of $20 per person. Visitors need to hold a valid ID for entry.
