Phoenix, AZ – An Ozone High Pollution Advisory is in effect for Maricopa County, including the Phoenix metro area, until Friday, April 12, 2025. The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) issued the alert due to forecasted weather conditions that, combined with existing ozone levels, are expected to lead to unhealthy air quality.
The advisory warns that ozone concentrations will reach levels that can significantly impact health. People, especially children, older adults, and those with respiratory issues, are advised to minimize outdoor activities. Breathing difficulties can worsen as air quality declines.
To help reduce exposure, residents are encouraged to carpool, use mass transit, or telecommute whenever possible. The use of gasoline-powered equipment should be minimized or scheduled for later in the day when air quality is better.
