Philadelphia, PA – A chilly and windy night is ahead for much of eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and northeastern Maryland as a cold front settles into the region. Temperatures tonight will dip into the low to mid-30s, with some higher-elevation areas falling into the upper 20s. Gusty west winds will make conditions feel even colder across the Philadelphia metro.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, west winds around 15 mph with gusts reaching 20–30 mph will persist through this evening before gradually diminishing overnight. Peak gust maps indicate that areas along the Jersey Shore—including Atlantic City and Cape May—may see the strongest winds, with gusts near 40–45 mph early in the evening. Inland communities such as Trenton, Reading, and Wilmington can expect gusts between 25–35 mph.
A few brief snow showers may develop across far northern portions of the forecast area, particularly near the Lehigh Valley and northwest New Jersey. These showers are expected to be short-lived and light, with no significant accumulation. Elsewhere, skies will remain partly cloudy with dry conditions overnight.
Temperatures will recover slightly Monday afternoon, with highs expected in the mid-40s to around 50. Winds will ease compared to Sunday night, though a cool breeze will linger behind the departing front.
Drivers should remain aware of sudden wind gusts, especially on bridges and elevated roadways. Those in coastal areas should secure lightweight outdoor items that may be blown around by strong evening winds.
Residents across Philadelphia, Camden, Trenton, Wilmington, Atlantic City, and surrounding communities are encouraged to bundle up tonight and prepare for brisk conditions Monday morning.
