Philadelphia, PA – Drivers and commuters in the Philadelphia area should prepare for rain, patchy fog, and reduced visibility starting late Sunday into Monday morning. With a Winter Weather Advisory issued for Warren County, PA, travelers should exercise caution during early-week travel, especially on busy roadways like I-95 and I-476.
According to the National Weather Service, rain is expected to begin late Sunday evening, with a 90% chance of precipitation and temperatures dropping to a low of 37 degrees. Patchy fog will further complicate Monday’s commute, creating hazardous conditions for drivers, particularly on highways and bridges. Visibility may be significantly reduced during the morning rush hour, so motorists are advised to slow down and allow extra travel time.
Monday’s forecast calls for lingering rain, cloudy skies, and east winds around 5 mph. Temperatures are expected to rise to a high near 47 degrees by the afternoon before additional rain moves in Monday night, with precipitation totals ranging between a quarter and half an inch.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, the region may see a slight improvement, with partly sunny skies and a high near 60 degrees. However, rain is likely to return Wednesday, with an 80% chance of precipitation and high temperatures in the mid-50s. The latter half of the week will bring clearing skies and cooler temperatures, offering a mix of sunshine and scattered rain chances.
Residents are encouraged to monitor forecasts for updates and remain cautious during inclement weather. Use headlights in foggy conditions and avoid sudden braking on wet roads.
