Tell City, IN – A Perry County man was arrested Sunday after an alleged domestic battery incident in Tell City, according to the Indiana State Police.

Troopers say officers were called to a residence on January 11, 2025, for a report of domestic violence. When they arrived, the male suspect had already left the scene. The female victim, who had visible injuries, was treated by EMS but declined further medical attention.

According to investigators, the incident began as an argument over marital property between the victim and her ex-husband, identified as Daniel E. Taylor, 40, of Chrissey. Police allege Taylor choked and struck the victim multiple times before fleeing the scene in a pickup truck.

Officers with the Indiana State Police and Spencer County Sheriff’s Office later located Taylor at his residence in Chrissey. He was arrested without incident and booked into the Perry County Jail, where he is being held on bond.

Taylor faces charges of Domestic Battery with Prior Conviction (Level 5 Felony) and Strangulation (Level 6 Felony).

The arrest involved coordination between Sergeant Teresa Vaal, Sergeant George Wooten, Trooper Adam McBeth, Trooper Levi Hupp, and officers from both the Spencer County Sheriff’s Office and Tell City Police Department.

All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
