Peotone, IL – Residents of Will County and surrounding areas are invited to attend an important public meeting on Wednesday, November 13, to provide input on future access improvements to Interstate 57. The meeting will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Will County Fair Atrium, located at 710 S. West Street in Peotone.
Hosted by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), this first public session will focus on the Phase I preliminary engineering and environmental study for I-57 access enhancements. This study encompasses the segment of I-57 running from Wilmington-Peotone Road to Manhattan-Monee Road, covering an area projected to meet travel demands through 2050.
IDOT encourages community members to join in to share feedback and learn more about existing conditions and potential changes to the highway infrastructure. Attendees can also register and learn about the study through online resources provided by IDOT. Those who require special assistance, including interpreters, are advised to contact IDOT five days in advance.
For more information, email AccessI57Study@gmail.com or visit IDOT’s website. The agency values resident input as it aims to improve regional accessibility and meet long-term transportation needs.
