Peoria, IL – A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Forrest Hill and N. Knoxville in Peoria on Friday morning left one driver seriously injured and led to an arrest, police said.
According to the Peoria Police Department, officers responded to the crash at approximately 9:25 a.m. on March 14. Upon arrival, emergency crews found both vehicles with significant damage. The male driver of one vehicle suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening conditions. The driver of the second vehicle sustained only minor injuries.
Police temporarily closed northbound and southbound lanes between Forrest Hill and W. Memorial Drive while clearing the scene. Authorities confirmed that the incident remains under investigation.
On March 17, police provided an update, stating that 39-year-old Theron T. Seiber, the driver of the second vehicle, initially fled the scene before returning a short time later. During a search of Seiber’s belongings, officers reportedly found several bags of cannabis. He was taken into custody and transported to the Peoria Police Department for questioning before being booked into the Peoria County Jail on possession of cannabis charges.
